When I write to you,
or address you,
I usually write,
hey kuks or where the hell were you?
or, please respond to my email or else my soul shall haunt you.
But this one is different.
This starts with dear kuki,
no nicknames, no codenames, no diss names.
Just kuki!
So….dear kuki,
I write this to thank you for making those 4 years of my life,
the best times of my life.
Thinking of you reminds me of how we met.
Our friendship was quite a wild ride.
We started back in 6th grade,
where you stole my food and copied my homework,
and I flushed your French notebook.
Sitting at the pond and cracking lame jokes,
laughing loudly, grunting and the trips to BMICH in 7th grade.
8th grade was quite special and 9th grade was the best.
Exchanging erasers in Bio quiz,
singing in our melodic voice( sarcasm)in food and fun fare,
presenting our song in drama competition.
I cannot possibly mention all the memories,
because then this poem would be a novel,
with infinity amount of pages.
or if the water in the river were the memories,
then the river would over flow.
Since it is a love poem,
I have to state all the obvious things,
I will start with,
thank you for all the things you have done for me,
thank you for all the fun and laughter,
thank you for making these 3 years of my life,
the best of my life,
thank you for bring my best friend.
I love you, and I will truly miss you.
I will never forget you,
even if I wanted to you (not that I wanted to!)
Thinking of you brings tear to my eyes,
you were the one who told me,
“don’t cry because it ended”,
Be happy because it happened”!
It isn’t a goodbye
It’s a see you soon.
