My Visit To Rishikesh By Miha Alam

After a busy and long semester came the winter holidays which everyone looked forward to.it wasnt excited until my brother gave a marvellous idea of going river rafting in Rishikesh.Disappointment took over my content mood because my parents thought its illogical to go river rafting in the middle of the cold weather.I really wanted to utilize my winter holidays in the most effective manner.then somebody contributed another idea that all the cousins should go together leaving the parents behind and let them have a gala time.Surprizingly my parents accepted that idea.I could feel my face lighten up.The very next day we packed all our necessities and our journey began.We hired a big jeep just enough for 18 of us.The journey to Rishikesh was amazing and full of fun.We all played cards,UNO and shared jokes.On the way we stopped for titbits and to refresh ourselves.Due to long drive we all curled up on to each other and slept into a dreamless sleep.We reached there just on time .the guide gave us a short introduction about the place and what we were supposed to do.The green environment was truly breathtaking.It was like an eco-friendly village.Big lush trees surrounded small camps.In the middle was the bonfire  with busy campers sitting around it.After singing and sharing our experiences we had dinner then we went off to bed early.

Next day was something which really made my day.We all changed into bathing suits wore our life jackets and set to go for river rafting.Ganga river was a wild and an enthusiatic river.You could really see some  big and small rapids and currents.The gushing water made me shiver which ran down my spine.We all sat in one big raft.I was very excitedbut at the sametime I panicked.we first rowed to the left and then to the right.Everything was smooth until we were caught in a big rapid.We all started shouting and crying.Luckily our guide was there to help us.He steered us clear from the rapid.We reached the river bank safely.The trip to Rishikesh was memorable for all of us.
